Move well with MoveWellia®
Advanced joint care for dogs experiencing joint health challenges, including stiffness and `slowing-up`. MoveWellia® has been expertly formulated with vets to deliver powerful joint support to maintain comfort and mobility:
- Boswellia: Its primary active compounds are boswellic acids, which support natural anti-inflammatory pathways in the body, making it great for dogs that are prone to inflammatory joint conditions. MoveWellia® includes boswellia which contains 90% boswellic acids, for optimal effect.
- Celery Seed: Containing active compounds that include polysaccharides and antioxidants, this power herb improves joint comfort by supporting good blood circulation to joints and connective tissue repair processes.
- Glucosamine hydrochloride: Produced naturally in the body, this amino sugar cushions the joints to maintain comfort and mobility. Glucosamine production reduces as dogs age, resulting in weaker joint cartilage and increased risk of joint discomfort.
- Chondroitin: As one of the essential building blocks of joint cartilage, chondroitin ensures the elasticity of cartilage, which is essential for joint shock absorption. Supplementation helps keep cartilage hydrated and supple, strengthening joint function.
- Vitamin C: Increasingly recognised as an important component of natural anti-inflammatory pathways, Vitamin C also helps maintain the health of collagen - a key component of the joint support structures.
- Zinc: Recognised as a key mineral deficiency in some inflammatory joint conditions, supplementation can help improve joint comfort.
- Hyaluronic acid: A naturally occurring gel-like substance, hyaluronic acid is an important component of joint fluid, which lubricates the joint, promoting mobility.
Naturally reduce your pet’s stress or anxiety with no drowsiness
We know it can be stressful to experience and manage your pet`s anxiety but we`re here to help, every step of the way. Our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets help to naturally relax your pet, with the active herbs naturally supporting the calming pathways within the nervous system, reducing anxiety without immobilising muscles or causing drowsiness. They don’t make pets dopey or wobbly – in fact they are widely used for agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed, but calm. One of our best-sellers, Scullcap & Valerian Tablets help tackle stress, fear and anxiety, whatever the cause, so you and your pet can relax, no matter what.
How do these tablets work?
The specially selected ingredients in our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets work together to help tackle stress, fear and anxiety in your pet:
- Valerian - helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles.
- Scullcap - contains a number of valuable compounds including those which bind to the GABA receptor and reduce anxiety.
- Mistletoe - helps to support the natural calming pathways within the nervous system and helps circulation.
- Gentian - supports the other natural active compounds and helps maintain normal liver function.
What situations are Scullcap & Valerian Tablets good for?
Our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets help to support the natural calming pathways within the nervous system, making them useful in a variety of challenging situations:
- Noise phobias (fireworks/thunderstorms)
- New home/rescue
- Separation anxiety
- Travelling
- Habitual anxiety
- Canine cognitive dysfunction and associated confusion/disorientation
- Training/performance support
- False pregnancy - dog can become anxious and unsettled
- Hyperactive dogs
- Territorial urine spraying in cats
- Skin sensitivity in nervous dogs
- Conditions that are exacerbated by a heightened state of anxiety or nervous excitability
There are no quick fixes when it comes to successfully helping your dog to manage their anxiety or fears for the long-term. Often, gentle and consistent behavioural work and training are required to help them to respond more positively to stressful situations, which takes time. This process is likely to be more effective when your dog is more relaxed, and this is where Scullcap & Valerian Tablets can help.
When do I need to start giving the tablets?
Our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets should be given daily, ideally splitting the recommended daily amount in two, to give half in the morning and half in the evening. For best results, we advise that Scullcap & Valerian Tablets are used every day for a minimum of three weeks, ideally alongside gentle and consistent behavioural work and training. By reducing anxiety levels to more manageable levels, our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets increase the likelihood that your pet will be more responsive to this training.
For `one-off` stressful events, our Valerian Compound is a great short-term, quicker-acting option and can also be used alongside Scullcap & Valerian Tablets for a top-up, if needed.

The other reasons can be found in all the positive feedback from our wonderful customers about how this best seller has helped their pet - something that we`re really proud of!
New & improved tablet formulation
One of our best sellers for 60 years, and a fundamental Dorwest herbs ‘staple’ product, our Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets are packed full of natural active compounds to promote general health. We have recently given these a makeover so they are now better than ever - gentler on the tummy and more palatable, so even the most sensitive dogs can enjoy the positive results these tablets bring. The reformulation includes a change from garlic oil to black aged garlic extract, which brings a whole host of additional benefits while minimising the chance of side effects. You can see more about black aged garlic below!
How can garlic and fenugreek help my dog?
Black aged garlic and fenugreek are both packed full of powerful health-promoting compounds to help naturally support your pet in a variety of ways:
- General health - high in antioxidants, to neutralise free radicals, helping to maintain general cell health, as well as compounds that are proven to help the body remain strong against disease, parasites and infectious agents such as bacteria
- Immunity - help to stimulate and develop a strong immune system
- Skin - high in antioxidants, which are calming and help to maintain skin health, as well as compounds that assist the skin`s natural defences against infections and parasites
- Joints - helps to maintain comfort and mobility
Why black aged garlic?
We don’t take the decision to reformulate one of our most loved products lightly, but we always want our supplements to be the best that they can, and the benefits of changing to black age garlic extract were too good to miss!
These include:
- Less allicin - reduces the offensive garlic odour to help palatability, is gentler on the tummy and minimises the risk of side effects
- Increased antioxidants - the fermentation process to create black aged garlic increases the antioxidant concentration. These neutralise free radicals and have positive effects across the body
- Provides supportive, soothing and cleansing effects across various body systems, as well as helping to maintain the body`s defences against parasites and infectious agents
- Contains compounds which naturally repel fleas, ticks and mites
How do Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets help my pet’s skin?
Healthy skin is a vital first line of defence against disease and an essential part of a happy pet, so skin problems can be a real source of misery! Unfortunately, they are common, with a wide range of potential causes – but our Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets can help!
Garlic and fenugreek contain active compounds which promote healthy skin, making our tablets ideal for supporting dogs with sensitive or compromised skin. They help the body remain strong against disease, parasites and infectious agents such as bacteria, and contain amino acids that are essential for skin turnover and repair. Both black aged garlic and fenugreek have high levels of antioxidants, which neutralise free radicals, to have a calming and soothing effect on the skin.
Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets are particularly effective when used in combination with our Green Releaf Tablets.
How do I give Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets?
Our Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets should be given daily, ideally splitting the total daily amount to give half in the morning and half in the evening. They can be given with or without food.
Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets should be given for at least a month and can be used long-term to help maintain a strong immune system - so your dog is ready to fight off whatever life throws at them.
For skin conditions it’s best to use for at least a month before expecting to see the full beneficial effects (as skin takes about three weeks to regenerate in dogs). If you know your dog suffers with their skin at particular times, for example due to pollen allergies, you can start using our Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets a month before. Using with our Green Releaf Tablets can help maximise results.
If you`re a loyal Garlic & Fenugreek user then the number of tablets you need to give your dog will stay the same with the updated product. We have carefully calculated the reformulation so the amount of garlic your dog will receive is the same, so you`ll continue to see the great effects, but with some added benefits.
Should I be worried about garlic toxicity?
You may have been told that garlic is toxic to dogs and so wonder why we sell garlic products specifically for them? It`s true that garlic can be toxic to our pets but like with many things, it comes down to how much and how it is administered. Even people can experience some nasty side effects if they consume too much garlic!
We take the safety of our products very seriously, from ingredient selection, through to rigorous audits of any reported side effects. Of the few mild side effects that have been reported for our Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets, most were related to tummy upsets, which is why we made the decision to use black aged garlic, rather than garlic oil when reformulating these tablets. Black aged garlic is known to help minimise the risk of side effects, be gentler on the tummy and also have additional health benefits when compared to fresh garlic extracts.
Our garlic-containing products are developed to allow you to administer a consistent, measured amount of garlic to your dog, so that they can enjoy the many benefits of garlic and you can have peace of mind. A recent study demonstrated that giving garlic extract to dogs, at a much higher amount than that found in our products, had no adverse effects.

Cats particularly love the smell of Valerian Compound, so administration really couldn’t be simpler.
How does Valerian Compound work?
Valerian helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles. It doesn’t make pets dopey or sleepy – in fact it is widely used for agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed, but calm. The concentrated herbal extracts used in this liquid ensure that within just 30 minutes a noticeable change in behaviour occurs without causing drowsiness and the effects are quite short lived. In situations that have a longer duration then we recommend also giving Scullcap and Valerian Tablets.
When faced with unexpected events like thunderstorms, Valerian Compound has a fast action and it can also be used in conjunction with Scullcap and Valerian Tablets in especially fearful situations and for anxious animals.
What can Valerian Compound be used for?
Phobias and nervous disorders can be really hard to deal with – both for pets and from their owners’ perspectives. Widely used as a treatment for noise phobias and fears associated with fireworks, thunder and gunfire, as well as for general excitability and hyperactivity, this herbal medicine is one of our best sellers. Popular for use in travel-related anxiety and also for territorial urine spraying in cats. Buy your supply of Scullcap and Valerian Tablets well in advance of fireworks night (there’s often huge demand around this time.)
Many situations can be worrying for our pets causing fear and anxiety. Valerian Compound can be used for:
- fireworks
- thunderstorms
- travelling
- showing
- going into kennels
- visiting the vets.
Valerian Compound acts quickly, helping you and your pet get through these events stress-free. It can also be used to restore calm in hyperactive pets.
Top-Tip: Try putting a few drops on a cloth on your pet’s bed to help them relax, cats especially love this.
Will it sedate my dog?
They are not sedatives, in fact these are widely used for performance dogs such as agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed. The herbs are nervines, that means they help to naturally relax the nervous system which reduces anxiety yet does not sedate muscles.
Can I use the tablets and liquid together?
Scullcap & Valerian Tablets used daily provide better coverage and are ideal to start using in the lead up to Fireworks Night so they are already nice and relaxed before the scary noises start. Valerian Compound is quicker-acting and is perfect to use orally as a "top-up" and for unpredicted events such as a neighbours having a fireworks display or a thunder storm. It is ideal to put a few drops on a cloth on their bed to help them relax, cats love this especially.
When do I need to start giving the products?
The more severe the phobia, the earlier you should start, up to a month in some cases. For moderate phobias, start around 10 days before the predicted worst night. However, even if you only start the day or so before your dog will still benefit.
What dosage/administration should I use?
Valerian Compound the administration is 1/4 tsp for small dogs and cats, 1/2 tsp for medium dogs, 1tsp for large dogs and 1.5tsp for Giant breeds. May be given as required, it is not recommended that more than two administrations of the stated amount are given in a 24 hours period.
Are they suitable for use during pregnancy/lactation?
Valerian Compound is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation - if you are unsure please contact our advice line for further information.
